Abstract

ABSTRACT

Objective: This study analyzes, through literature review and empirical data, the impact of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and corporate governance (CG) on the management of Mozambican companies, using Transportes e Logística de Moçambique (TLM) as a case study.

Method: Adopting a qualitative approach, the research focused on document analysis and interviews with managers and employees to better understand internal processes and how the company strategically applies CG and CSR principles.

Key Findings: The results highlight that good conduct, transparency, accountability, ethics, and strong leadership are essential principles guiding corporate management. The study emphasizes not just theoretical understanding but practical awareness among professionals on how socially responsible management generates benefits for companies in developing economies.

Originality: Through a case study, this research portrays the business environment in a developing country, reinforcing the importance of CG and CSR practices for improved management and stakeholder responsiveness.

Theoretical Contributions: Specialized literature in business management suggests that CG and CSR provide a strategic framework for companies seeking competitive differentiation. These concepts offer both theoretical and practical insights for modern business administration.

Managerial Implications: Research confirms that CG and CSR are emerging fields in Mozambique’s corporate sector, capable of minimizing conflicts and enhancing business dynamism in both public and private enterprises.
