Unconventional behavioral management techniques in children

Many people associate dental treatment with discomfort, and this ends up generating fear, stress and anxiety in most patients. In Dentistry, play has been fundamentally used in pediatric dentistry, based on the realization that treating an adult is profoundly different from dental treatment in children. There are many behavioral approach methods. This study consists of a narrative literature review, based on the search for complete articles. Distraction techniques allow greater relaxation, thus reducing the number of body movements during dental care, helping with the success of the treatment, but the different effects on physiological stress depend on how the patient deals with stress, which helps with anxiety and stress of these patients are new methods such as: an animated presentation on oral health, use of virtual reality glasses, and even other simpler methods, proving to be an effective distraction intervention to reduce pain and anxiety in children before during the service.
