Abstract

Endometriosis is defined as the presence of endometrial tissue on the outside of the uterus. When this tissue penetrates the retroperitoneal space or the wall of pelvic organs, it is called Deep Endometriosis. Intestinal involvement occurs in between 3% and 37% of women at menarche when deep endometriosis is detected. The most common complaint is pelvic pain, present in 76.5% of cases, other symptoms, being more specific, depend on the depth of wall involvement. The best resources for diagnosing intestinal endometriosis are imaging methods in a more general way. Thus, the present study aims to evaluate the findings of colonoscopy in women with intestinal endometriosis at the private clinic Gastroclínica in the city of Cascavel-PR, so that this can become one of the exams performed in women with suspected deep endometriosis for prevention. of colorectal cancer.
