Abstract

Vitamin D is considered a steroid hormone with a broad spectrum of action in the human body. In this way, the theme refers to vitamin D correlated with COVID-19. Therefore, the objective of this study was to discuss the real impact that vitamin D has on COVID-19. it is of a Systematic Literature Review, where data collection takes place in a virtual way, searching for articles in the Google Scholar databases, Virtual Health Library (BVS) and the Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO), Revista Brasileira de Plantas Medicinais and Revista de Farmacognosia, with the following descriptors: "Vitamin D'', "COVID -19", "Efficacy', "Treatment", which was based on scientific works published between the years from 2010 to 2021. For data collection and analysis, there was a process and flow to concentrate articles related to the main theme of the research and to highlight the findings. In the present study, 18 scientific articles were analyzed that discuss the central theme proposed by this work. Considering the analyzed sample, the results obtained by this study were presented separately in order to facilitate their understanding. Due to the pandemic state faced in recent times, it is notorious to observe that Vitamin D is of paramount necessity for human health, resulting in numerous benefits. By relating it to the treatment of COVID-19, it can be seen that it is possible to find advantages. Although there is no cure for this disease, the use of Vitamin D can be beneficial, as studies have already shown that its use has brought a great advantage in the course of treatment.
