Abstract

The present work aimed to analyze the risks of the exacerbated use of hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin for the health of the population during the pandemic period of Covid-19, in which several test treatments were adopted in an attempt to minimize the damages of the disease. as a literature review, based on scientific articles available in the Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences Literature (LILACS), Medical Literature Analysis (MEDLINE), Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), U. S. National Library databases. of Medicine (NLM)/Pubmed, as well as the book “The Pharmacological Bases of Goodman and Gilman Therapy”, using the following descriptors: “Hydroxychloroquine”, “Ivermectin” and “Covid-19”, combined by the Boolean operator “AND ”. From the results found, it was found that such drugs used indiscriminately and recurrently can cause intoxication and future damage to the health of the population. From this, the study concludes that such drugs used as a test treatment during the pandemic period for Covid-19, did not bring enough positive results from the clinical tests, consequently they may have caused intoxication by large consumption, causing irreversible damage to the health of the population.
