Abstract

Anacardiaceae belongs to the order Sapindales and consists of about 80 genera and 600 species. Its genus is subdivided into 5 tribes (Anacardiaceae, Dubineae, Rhoeae, Semecarpeae and Spondias Ae), Spondias Mombim popularly known as “cajá mirim” “cajazeiro” “taperebá” native to Brazil and found mainly in the north-northeast regions. Spondias purpúrea L. popularly known as “serigueleira”, is a native plant of the subtropical semiarid forests of Mesoamerica, Peru and Brazil. Spondias tuberosa Arruda, popularly called umbu, or umbuzeiro is one of the most important and endemic species in Brazil. To identify which biological and pharmacological activities have already been scientifically proven for the genus Spondias.: this study is a literature review about the proven pharmacological activities for the genus Spondias. It will be held from February to May 2022, using scientific articles from updated journals and journals, the research bases used will be: Virtual Health Library- Bireme, Latin American and Caribbean health sciences information system- LILACS, and Scientific electronic Library Online- SCIELO. Using the following descriptors: Pharmacological activities. Spondias genus. Anacardiaceae. Having as filters articles published in English and Portuguese, with foreign language articles translated into Portuguese, productions between the years 2014 -2021, the inclusion criteria used were: publication date, articles available in full, that is, free, among the articles that will be previously selected, the abstracts will be read, and those that do not fit the inclusion criteria will be excluded from the research. A return is expected through the scientific bases that prove the existence of proven pharmacological activities for the genus Spondias.
