Amelogenesis Imperfecta (AI) is a rare genetic disorder that affects enamel formation, leading to structural and esthetic defects involving both the primary and permanent dentitions. This study aims to report the clinical case of a patient with AI associated with intellectual disability, emphasizing the diagnostic challenges and the restorative and rehabilitative strategies employed. The patient presented with multiple carious lesions, dental hypersensitivity, and esthetic concerns, having previously received an inaccurate diagnosis and an excessively invasive treatment plan. After thorough clinical and radiographic evaluation, a conservative treatment approach was developed, including restorations with resin-modified glass ionomer cement, followed by endodontic treatment and anterior rehabilitation using fiberglass posts and direct composite veneers. The treatment resulted in functional, esthetic, and psychosocial improvements, evidenced by restored mastication, reduced sensitivity, and increased self-esteem. This case reinforces that the clinical management of AI requires a multidisciplinary and humanized approach, considering not only dental rehabilitation but also the emotional and social well-being of the patient. Early diagnosis, continuous follow-up, and individualized treatment planning are essential for achieving therapeutic success and maintaining both oral and emotional health.
